Planet Playschool Philosophy
The philosophy behind our program is that young children learn about their world through discovery. Children need strong, positive and creative role models who will teach them the difference between right and wrong, good and bad. They need to express their creativity, their imagination and their hearts. To accomplish this, they need to be involved in a hands-on environment that is safe and encouraging.

Greeting to Parents
We are delighted that you are considering us as one of your child care options. We recognize that you have many choices in this regard and that the decision to leave your child in someone else's care is both difficult and stressful. At Planet Playschool we never forget that caring for your child is a privilege and a responsibility.

We also strive to provide you the comfort of knowing that your child is safe, happy and learning, while in our care. In case you have any questions, please feel free to contact us. We also encourage you to tour our facility so that you can fully determine our overall suitability to fulfill your child's needs.

We accept children from the ages of 6 weeks through 5 years old.

We thank you for your interest & consideration.

Policies
Requirements for registration
A child is considered registered once their enrollment application and fee have been submitted to the Director. The complete enrollment packet is to be turned in on the child’s first day of preschool. Parents will have 30 days, from this date, to submit a copy of the child’s immunizations and the medical history form.

Tuition
Weekly tuition is due by Tuesday each week. There is a $25.00 charge for returned checks.

Arrival Time
Our school day begins at 9:00am. Please have children here by this time so they may enjoy breakfast and be ready to jump into the fun activities their teachers have planned for the day.

Sick Policy
When children arrive for care they must be in good health and free from symptoms of contagious disease. In cases of fever, the child may not return to the center until the fever has been absent for 24 hours without the aid of a fever reducer. It is our desire to protect both sick and well children in the center.

Arrival and Departure
Upon arrival: All children must be accompanied inside the facility by an adult. Staff must be notified of the child’s arrival. Children are expected to arrive at the school no later than 8:50am. Arriving after this time is disruptive to the other children in our care and interrupts the teachers’ class schedules.

Upon departure: An adult must come inside the facility and notify a staff member that the child is leaving. No child will be released to anyone who is not designated as an authorized individual in the child’s file. Authorization is required in writing when anyone other than the designated adult arrives to pick up the child. ID will be required from adults whom Planet Playschool is unfamiliar with.

CHILDREN ARE NOT TO BE LEFT UNATTENDED EITHER INSIDE OR OUTSIDE THE BUILDING OR ANYWHERE ON THE PREMISES.

Items from Home
Each child will be expected to bring a smiley face, an imagination, a positive attitude and be ready to have lots and lots of fun!!! Should your child forget one of these things, it’s OK, because we have plenty.
We ask that you bring for your child:

  • Sippy cup with lid
  • Premade Bottles with lids (infants) – all must be labeled with your child’s name and the current date, daily
  • Diapers/Pull-ups
  • A complete change of clothing that is labeled in a sealed bag to be left at the school
  • Small blanket for naptime that is labeled with your child’s name on it

Absences
We welcome all calls from parents and want everyone to feel welcome calling for any reason. If the following were to occur please contact us as soon as possible:

  • If your child is going to be absent or late.
  • If someone other than a parent or guardian is going to be picking up your child.
  • If information on enrollment forms change.
  • If you will be somewhere different during the day.
  • If your child has contracted something highly contagious (strep throat, head lice, pinkeye, etc…)
